Recently, while preaching through Jesus’ first miracle of turning water into wine, I paused to detail the differences between Catholic and Reformed belief’s concerning Mary.
Two points: 1) Roman Catholic’s (I’m also reformed btw) do not teach that Mary does not have original sin, but rather that she is born so sanctified in the womb that she begins in holiness. This is what Thomas Aquinas says in his summa. 2) even Heinrich Bullinger believed in the bodily assumption, I’m not quite sure this is necessarily a point of “reformed” disagreement even though some reformed may have thought it.
